The AI for Social Impact Challenge is a global contest built on a UNITAR-certified online course. Complete the course, submit a project proposal that uses AI to address a real problem aligned with the UN SDGs, and compete to be recognized among the top 10 performers.
The AI for Social Impact Challenge is operated by Ureka, with a certificate issued by UNITAR. It is not affiliated with the ITU's “AI for Good” summit. How they differ.

How the Challenge works
1. Complete the course
Finish all 6 self-paced modules — no coding required — and earn your verifiable certificate issued by UNITAR.
2. Submit your project
Build and submit a project proposal that applies AI to a real problem aligned with the UN SDGs, by 15 October 2026.
3. Compete for Geneva
Submissions are scored on SDG-aligned criteria. The top 10 receive a fully funded trip to the award ceremony at UN HQ Geneva.
